Schisandra
Schisandra chinensis
Five-flavor adaptogenic berry for energy, liver, and stress resilience
About Schisandra
Schisandra is a climbing vine that produces clusters of bright red berries, prized in Traditional Chinese Medicine as a premier adaptogen. It is called 'wu wei zi' meaning 'five-flavor fruit' because the berries are simultaneously sweet, sour, salty, bitter, and pungent — a rare quality believed to nourish all five organ systems. It supports liver detoxification, mental endurance, and the body's resistance to physical, chemical, and emotional stress.
Key benefits

How to use
Steep 1-2 tsp dried schisandra berries in hot water for 10-15 minutes (the brew is tart). Take as a tea, tincture (2-4 ml twice daily), or powder. Often combined with other adaptogens. Use consistently for several weeks for full adaptogenic effect.
