Nature's band-aid for wounds and bites

About this remedy
Plantain leaf is one of the most effective first aid plants available. Its allantoin content promotes cell regeneration, while aucubin provides antimicrobial action. A fresh poultice draws out infections, soothes insect bites, and accelerates healing of puncture wounds — often outperforming antibiotic ointment for penetrating deep into tissue.
Preparation
Pick 2-3 fresh plantain leaves. Chew them briefly (saliva activates enzymes) or crush with a mortar and pestle. Apply the moist green mass directly to the wound, bite, or sting. Cover with a clean bandage. Replace every 2-4 hours.
Dosage
Apply fresh poultices as needed, 2-4 times daily until healing is well underway. For deeper wounds, continue for 2-3 days.
Cautions
For minor wounds and bites only. Seek medical attention for deep puncture wounds, animal bites, or signs of serious infection. Ensure you correctly identify plantain (Plantago major) — not the banana-type fruit.
