About this remedy

Chaga has one of the highest antioxidant capacities (ORAC > 146,000) of any natural food, primarily from melanin and superoxide dismutase (SOD). Studies show chaga significantly reduces oxidative stress markers and supports immune function. It's been used in Russian folk medicine for centuries.

Preparation

Place 2-3 chunks of chaga (about 10 g) in a slow cooker with 4 cups water. Simmer on low for 8-12 hours. Strain and store in fridge for up to 1 week. Chaga chunks can be reused 3-4 times.

Dosage

1-3 cups chaga tea daily. For powder: 1-2 tsp daily in beverages.

Cautions

High in oxalates — those prone to kidney stones should limit intake. May interact with blood thinners and diabetes medications. Discontinue 2 weeks before surgery.
