Goji berries (wolfberries) have been used in Traditional Chinese Medicine for over 2,000 years. They are exceptionally rich in zeaxanthin (eye-protective carotenoid), vitamin C (up to 500 mg per 100 g dried), vitamin A, and unique Lycium barbarum polysaccharides (LBPs) that stimulate immune cell activity. A randomized clinical trial found daily goji berry consumption significantly increased lymphocyte count, IL-2 levels, and IgG โ€” markers of enhanced immune function.

Preparation

Eat 1โ€“2 tablespoons of dried goji berries as a snack, or steep in hot water for 10 minutes to make goji tea. Can be added to trail mix, oatmeal, smoothies, or salads. Soak in water for 10 minutes before adding to cooked dishes.
