About this remedy
Reishi mushroom has been studied extensively for its immune-modulating beta-glucans and triterpenes. A systematic review found reishi significantly enhanced immune function markers. It's also traditionally used to promote restful sleep and reduce stress, making it ideal for evening use.
Preparation
Simmer 1-2 tsp reishi powder or 5-10 g dried slices in 2 cups water for 30-60 minutes to extract compounds. Strain, add honey and lemon to taste. For a more potent brew, use a slow cooker on low for 4-6 hours.
Dosage
1-2 cups daily, preferably in the evening. For supplements: 1-1.5 g standardized extract 2-3 times daily.
Cautions
May interact with blood thinners and immunosuppressants. Those with autoimmune conditions should consult their doctor. Avoid before surgery due to potential bleeding risk.
