Iodine-rich broth for thyroid and metabolic support

About this remedy
Iodine is essential for the thyroid gland to produce the hormones that regulate metabolism, energy, and body temperature — and seaweed is the richest natural source of it. This simple mineral broth, built around a strip of kombu kelp, delivers bioavailable iodine alongside a spectrum of trace minerals. It is a traditional Japanese 'dashi' base, valued for centuries as a nourishing daily foundation.
Preparation
Simmer a 4-inch strip of dried kombu kelp in 4 cups of water for 10-15 minutes (do not boil hard — it can turn bitter). Remove the kombu. Add a slice of fresh ginger and a squeeze of lemon. Sip warm as a broth.
Dosage
1 cup a few times per week — not daily. Seaweed is so iodine-dense that moderation is important to avoid excess iodine intake.
Cautions
IMPORTANT: seaweed is extremely high in iodine — too much can disrupt thyroid function just as too little can. Avoid if you have hyperthyroidism, Hashimoto's, or are on thyroid medication without consulting your doctor. Not for daily high-volume use.
