About this remedy
This potent shot combines ginger, turmeric, lemon, and black pepper for maximum immune activation. Ginger's gingerols and turmeric's curcumin are both potent immunomodulators, while lemon provides vitamin C. A clinical trial found ginger and turmeric together significantly enhanced immune cell activity and reduced inflammatory markers.
Preparation
Juice 2 inches fresh ginger and 1 inch fresh turmeric root (or 1/2 tsp powder). Mix with juice of 1/2 lemon, a pinch of black pepper, and 1 tsp honey. Stir or shake vigorously.
Dosage
1-2 oz shots daily during cold season, or at first signs of feeling unwell. Can be taken up to 3 times daily for acute support.
Cautions
Very potent — may cause a burning sensation. Not suitable for those with GERD or gastric ulcers. May interact with blood thinners. Turmeric can stain clothing and surfaces.
